My first customer quilt

Pieced by my MQG friend @ja2zquiltz. I couldn't have asked for a better first. The quilt and backing were square and the piecing was perfect.

We decided to do a semi-custom design, using the @longarmleague Gridlock pattern on the main section with a few extra circles in the blank spots that quilted right on the center white crosses. I used the Radiating Line pattern by Valerie Thor of @bequilted for the borders and corners.

The blocks are 24" tall. My machine is a 26" throat, which means we can maybe squeeze in 22.5" at best. What to do? I used the #creativestudio pattern fill and did a half block at a time. It quilted out perfectly, the only "issue" being the dead white space (see image 2). I filled this space with the Gammill circle pattern, and it looks like it was designed that way (see image 4). We used @superiorthreads#KingTut in Karnak (varigated turquiose to brown). Quilted on my @gammill#statlerstitcher

When it came off the frame I couldn't stop staring! What a beautiful quilt. I feel so honored and grateful that it was entrusted in my care. #hearts
